Pawday (댕오늘) Privacy Policy

Pawday is a map of dog-friendly places in Korea with a daily walk index. It has no account, no ads and no tracking, and it keeps your precise location on your device.

Data we collect

Anonymous activity counters. When you open a place, add or remove a favorite or vote 👍/👎, the app adds a count to a public iCloud (CloudKit) table: the place id, the kind of action, the time, which screen it was on and in which position, and your coarse settings context (dog size, transport, weekend, weather). No user id, no device id, no location, no text. These counts power "Trending now". When the app shows a list of places, it also sends to the same table a random number made for that one list (it is new for every list and is not tied to your device or to you), the order of the places in the list, and which of its cards were actually on screen. We use these to improve the recommendations and to measure how well they work. Apple classifies this as "Product Interaction", not linked to you, used for the app's features and for analytics.

Coarse location for nearby search and weather. To show dog-friendly cafés and restaurants around you and the weather where you are, the app sends your coordinate rounded to two decimals (about 1 km) to Kakao's local search and to Apple's WeatherKit. Nothing else about you is sent, and Kakao's results are not stored.

That is all. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics SDK and no tracking.

Location

Pawday asks for "While Using the App" location permission so it can sort places by distance, pick your region and fetch local weather. This is optional: tap "Don't Allow" and choose a region in Settings instead. Your precise location is used on the device only. Apple's WeatherKit and Kakao's nearby search get only the rounded coordinate described above; nothing is sent to our own servers (we have none).

Network

Data stored on your device

Your dog's profile (name, size, breed), favorites, chosen region, radius and "what matters to me" chips are saved in a file inside the app's container on your iPhone. The widget reads a small daily card through the app group. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Place data

Place listings are bundled with the app and come from Korea's open data portal (data.go.kr), the Korea Culture Information Service Agency's nationwide pet-friendly facility file and the Korea Tourism Organization, published under open government licences. Every place shows its source and last-checked date. Photos credit their source (Korea Tourism Organization, Wikimedia Commons with licence, the shop's Instagram account, or the blog a blogger's photo comes from).

Children's privacy

Pawday collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

댕오늘에는 계정·광고·추적이 없어요. 수집하는 것은 둘뿐이에요. ① 장소를 열거나 즐겨찾기를 하거나 풀거나 👍👎 를 누르면 익명 집계(장소·종류·시각·화면·순서·대략의 설정 맥락, 식별자 없음)가 iCloud 공개 테이블에 더해져 "지금 뜨는 곳" 을 만들어요. 장소 목록을 보여 줄 때는 그 목록에만 쓰는 무작위 번호도 같은 테이블에 보내요. 번호는 목록마다 새로 만들고, 기기나 사람과 이어지지 않아요. 목록에 놓인 장소의 순서와 화면에 실제로 보인 카드도 함께 보내요. 이 정보는 추천을 고치고 추천이 얼마나 잘 맞는지 재는 데 써요. ② 근처 애견동반 카페·식당과 내 위치 날씨를 보여 주려고 카카오 검색과 Apple WeatherKit 에 1 km 단위로 뭉갠 좌표만 보내요. 정확한 위치는 기기 안에서 거리순 정렬과 지역 선택에만 써요. 후기 미리보기와 블로그 사진은 보는 순간 카카오에서 가져와요. 사진은 올려 둔 곳(관광공사·인스타그램·블로그·위키미디어)에서 바로 불러와요. 그 서버는 기기의 보통 이미지 요청만 받아요. 강아지 프로필·즐겨찾기·지역·반경은 iPhone 안의 앱 저장소에만 있고 앱을 지우면 함께 지워져요.
